Default Loud whistle with cel

Hey all! Let me first say that most of you on here are quite knowledgable. I've read a quite a few threads with many great solutions. I hoping you can do the same for me.

I drive a 2005 Audi A4 93K. I chipped it about 2 months with forge diverter valve and installed a new cold air intake from AFE 7 days ago. I just came back from a long trip from Niagara Falls and started to hear a loud whistling sound coming from under my hood and I got a cel. It only whistles on acceleration. This isn't the NORMAL sound we all hear from our turbo. There is definitely a problem.

First thing, I'm going to get the codes as I see that is the first thing you all ask for, but I thought I'd give the thread a head start. lol

Any suggestions? Another thing, would it be worth investing in a Vag-com diagnosis system so I don't have to keep paying Audi to "look" at my vehicle and offer ridiculous solutions at rape a$$ prices?

So, (1) the whistle only occurs under acceleration and (2) you just installed a cold-air intake; there's likely a connection between these two data-points... ;-)

As an Audi owner, investing in a VAG.com system is money wisely spent; the on-board monitoring systems capture/store a wealth of diagnostic information (including intermittent system faults) and a VAG.com system will provide you with straightforward and timely access.

So I brought it in and the errors were 1) Running too rich 2) Overboost; both which were sparadic faults. We took a look at the cold air intake and noticed a pinched hose. Fixed it and cleared the codes. Whistle is still there, but not sure why I didn't hear it before. But I'll let you all know if the cel comes back.

Btw, I'm aware of the cold air intake making a whistling sound I just never heard of it taking 10 days to start whistling.

So this morning the cel light came back on and I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the loud whistling which is getting louder by the day. Any suggestions . . . pcv valve, maf sensor? I have no idea. What happened to the days where mechanics could here a sound tell you what it was and then fix it. Can we only read computer screens??? I'm pretty sure if someone can find the source of the loud whistling they'll find the problem. Does anyone know a really good mechanic in the GTA? You know . . . someone who has skills beyond reading the LCD screen. Lol.

FYI, I blew my K03 turbo. It looks like something must have fell down in the turbo during my intake upgrade & damaged all the blades. Upgraded to a K04 and reinstalled the stock intake.

I should have read the posts regarding upgrading/changing to a cold air intake. Won't make that mistake again.
