Beep-beep-beep-beep? Aka, Mysterious Beeping.

Over the past few days when I started my car (2002 1.8t) in the morning I got a mysterious four beep alarm. It only occurred on a few occasions and not every time. Today for instance it beeped at first ignition but not on subsequent starts. I have the owner's manual in front of me and haven't been able to find anything in there about a four beep chime.

Anyone know what it's trying to tell me? My car gonna blow up? Engine gonna esplode soon?
