What I've found work is to spray in the air intakes (at the bottom of the front windshield, with the hood pulled up), a solution of bacteriostatic that is generally used in humidifiers. This is the inexpensive way. The other is to spray Lysol. Yes, the purpose is to kill the mold in the system because of stagnant water removed from air that has not dripped out of the vent with A/C use.
