hi,
i just bought A4 B6 and i have a problem with fuel gaudge. I filled up my reservoir (tank) and after i start fuel gaudge shows empty reservoir? i swithed enginge off and on and this time fuel gaudge shows half of reservoir. third time engitionn off and on and now shows full reservoir. All the time board computer shows aprox 800 km to drive with this amount of fuel. Probably it is a problem with bouy (swimmer in the tank), but the question is how do i find him in the reservoir (tank) and clean because it is probably dirt from fuel. tnx Dragan |

to elimnate the dash insert, carry out a final control test of the fuel gauge via vag com to check the correct operation of the needle. If ok suggest the tanksender is defective and to be sure a resistance test of the wiring from the sender to the dash insert should confirm, you could also apply a fixed resistance down the signa lwires to check empty, full and half tank readings. If this is a quattro then also consider both senders as most common issues are dry soldered joints at the senders.
