Thumbs up Oil Change A4 B6 2.0

This is for the benefit of those of you out there who are thinking of changing their oil and oil filter.
I have just replaced the oil on my Audi A4 B6 2.0.
I bought an oil filter from my local Audi dealer in Hatfield for £5.00 something and also a new drain plug, fitted with a new washer for about 0.75p. I bought 5 ltrs of Castrol Edge 05w-30w.Cost approximately £58.00!. The car takes 4.2 ltrs of oil but in the end I needed just under 4ltrs. The spare 1 ltr is there for the odd top up that I might require as times goes by.
Now you are expecting me to say that the whole process took less than 20 mins. WRONG!
To remove the under cover to gain access to the sump. 5mins.
To remove drain plug and drain oil. 10 mins.
To remove oil filter from underneath the car 90 mins! YES 90mins! Removing the oil filter was the hardest part. It would not budge for love nor money. Was almost tempted to put a screwdriver through it. In the end managed to losen it with a strap and socket.
Remainder of job. 10 mins.
Manually reset the service schedule and is now showing next service due in 363 days and/or 8600 miles.
Last month I replaced the 4 coils along with 4 new spark plugs.

Hope this helps someone.

I know how this can go. Usually what takes me the longest is getting those stupid plastic panels on and off the bottom. Also i've done the screw driver to the oil filter before, just make sure you're clear of the center pole ;-)
