Default Faulty Climate Control

Hey there - hope you can help me out. My CC seems to blow nice and cold on LO but when i put it to 18, the air coming out is around 40deg. Its much better on a long journey than around town. Audi say there's no way to diagnose it and want me to spend big bucks on a new controller and see if that sorts it. Anyone got any ideas???

Complete BS from the dealer! There are a multitude of things to test to get to the source of this problem on Audi diagnostic equipment. i would suspect a temp blend flap motor or temp sensor fault in the heater box.

CC on mine works on every temperature except low.
Hot day....set the system to low and it blows mildly cool air.

Speaking to the Audi dealer just gets a
"Bring it in for a diagnosis sir, it could be anything"

But when the car was getting a new tyre fitted recently, the guy who did it said it just needs re-gassing.
The company was Kwik-Fit and they do Air-Con regassing.

Is this the case or should I let the Audi dealer take a look.
The reason I ask, is because every time its gone back to the dealer for anything its always been found to be something expensive, or something else that needs replacing. (laugh)
