CVT intermittently judders slightly at stop

I just got my 2003 A4 1.8T CVT Cabrio back from the Audi dealer after 50k service. I had no complaints other than an occasional slight "judder" when the car comes to a stop. The dealer ran "guided fault finding following test plan" and checked "measuring block values" and a roadtest which did not find any mechanical troubles, but acording to the "diagnostic values" per the "service bulletin" suggests changing the CVT transmission filter and performing a fluid flush 3 times - which in my area is a $1,500 repair. Does this sound reasonable? I heard somewhere that Audi now reccomends that the transmission oil be replaced at 60k - my car has 46k on it.

Moving on, the dealer stated that the rear brake wear is at the limit, and the front rotors are scored, but still have some life left. And the brake fluid is dirty. Plus they recommended to flush the cooling system and replace the coolant. The tab for these: $550 for the rear brakes; $698 for the front brakes; $145 for the flush. Add 1 hour of labor for the diagnostic ($115) and the $165 for the 50k SM, it was working out to be a costly visit to the shop.

In the end, I paid for the 50K SM, the diag, and the flush, and deferred the CVT and brakes - I can get the brakes done cheaper elsewhere, and the CVT oil and filter, well I'm waiting on your suggestions - particulary if you think an independent shop could do the CVT work...

i have the same issue, i been told that there might be dirt in some part of the throttle, maf.... there is a thread i started but waiting for the person to reply with more info on what needs to be cleaned...
