i agree...if the car was meant to have this it would have come with it. your audi has a ram air intake why would you want to change that out? all that intake is going to do is make your car loud, not meet emissions standards, and suck in HOT air from the engine compartment. $400.00 for what a less superior product i wouldn't! if anything go with k&n they are tried and true intakes, but i really would leave it stock, stock looks better too.

The standard setup is just that - great for the power of a standard car; ive got this fitted now and it runs fine - better acceleration through the gears, not much noise except for light induction and D/V noise through the cone, only thing is a slight heatsoak issue but ive manufactured a chrome heat shield so this is sorted now and looks great
No fitting instructions are included with this item but the fit is excellent and dead straight forward Would recommend one to anyone considering an air filter change - also only cost me £62 form the USA so is great value compared to a K&N panel filter which is £35-50 over here in the UK Rob

You obviously haven't heard much talk from Carbonio owners. Most of them say that it does nothing for their performance whatsoever except change the sound. As for your proven HP gains... Show me the proof!!!! honestly if 400 dollars can get me 20 more HP and better fuels economy I'll buy it. Ifnot, GARBAGE!!!!!!! So I'm reading your link I see no solid numbers... How much HP gain can I expect? How much of a gain in Torque can I expect? Furthermore the site mentions: "Carbon fiber has a low thermal conductivity" Low Thermal Conductivity means that it insulates better meaning more hot air enters the cylinders which we all know is worse for the engine. than a cooler airflow. Dude it's all fluff in my opinion and if you beleive it then good on ya but I'd rather chip it, get better injectors, install a CB exhaust and a performance clutch and I'll bet any money I'd smoke any stock car with their "CARBONIO" intake. Actually, that's not fair. I'll just get it chipped for 450 and beat any stock car with their "CARBONIO" intake anyday! Cost vs benefits my friend. How much did you pay for this POS vs. how much did you get out of it? It is pretty though ![]() Last edited by pablo_ottawa : 03-30-2008 at 12:08 PM. |
