Default Instalation of Navi plus into 2002 A4 Avant

Hi

Anyone know how you install a second hand navi plus with double DIN in my A4 Avant to replace the non actory unit installed.

Looking at the console in my car, it won't fit unless I move the air con unit down. Currently there is a space underneath the aircon unit which I'd like to fit, see pictures of current and new units

Has anyone tried this beofre sucessfully & is able to offer me some tips on how to do this if indeed it is possible or do I need to go to a dealer?

Would be grateul for any help

You will need the following items:

Audi A4 8E B7 B6 Klimabedienteil + Doppel Din schacht bei eBay.de: Innenausstattung (endet 02.02.08 17:37:45 MEZ)

Or the following if you can re-use your climatronic and you will need a facia plate for the climate control
Audi A4 B6 - B7 - Doppel - Din - Schacht für Navi usw. bei eBay.de: Innenausstattung (endet 01.02.08 21:14:43 MEZ)

and also one of these:
Plug&Play SET VW MFD AUDI SAT NAV CABLE ADAPTER ANTENNA on eBay, also GPS Systems, Navigation GPS, In-Car Entertainment GPS, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 31-Jan-08 15:34:08 GMT)

You will also need a navigation CD, which is widely available.
Most people using this type of system also fit a Cd changer as the unit cannot play music CD's. The CD slot is only there for the navigation disc.

Thumbs down

You will need a TV tuner and 2 TV aerials that fit on the rear side windows on the Avant.
The biggest issue is that the TV tuners for this are all a nalogue. This will make the system redundant in about 2 years as all will move over to digital transmission .
Sorry about the spelling mistake but the system does not allow me to type a n a l o g u e

If you need more info on installing the system, have a look at the following forum
