Question Stereo trouble

I could use some stereo advice, I've got a couple of problems. The drivers side front speakers cut in and out, usually when I go over a bump. Both the tweeter and mid-range cut in and out together. And the rear passenger side speakers don't work at all. So much for my fancy bose system ...

Audi has replaced the front speaker, replaced the radio twice, done some silly connector cleaning trick 4 times, all for the front driver's side. Luckily all under warranty :-)

I'm thinking to dive in myself ... I figure I'll pull the radio, check the connections there. Also try to find the amp and check all the connections. I already looked inside the front door panel, everything looked OK. Anything else I should check?
(A4 Avant 2002 Bose)

Thx ...

Default Me Too!!!!

Hi,
i also have this problem, an auto electrician friend of mine tells me it is a faulty head unit, apparently when you turn the key in the ignition the head unit sends a signal to turn on the rear amplifier to the cars computer...... that is now not happening because the head unit is faulty, this fault is also causing the front speakers to act eratically, he also says that the only way to prove this is to have an official Audi diagnostic, as the standard machines will not Pick up a fault, i have not got around to doing this yet............. hope that helps

I've had mine in to Audi multiple times, and they've actually replaced the head unit (twice!)
So I'm pretty sure that 's not the same problem I'm having ... hope you can get yours resolved though.
I'm thinking mine is probably the amp, hard to know for sure though.
