Default lowering advice

A few questions,please help.

Thinking of lowering my a4 tdi (b6) 2002 after fitting genuine audi 5 star alloys with 235/45/17 tyres there is a gap between wheel and arch, which i dont like!. Car originally came with 15'' alloys.(car is bog standard MODEL)

I was told firstly dont buy JAMEX springs they are crap,WHY ?

2nd-ly i was told dont lower more than 35mm as the drive shaft will rub on the anti-roll bar .......YES/NO ?????????

3rd. Whats the difference between jamex,pi and koni ?

Final and last few questions-I am advised original shocks are ok up untill 40 mm. yes or no?

I will need alignment done/checked but camber will be ok as im thinking of lowering 35 MM ....yes/no ????????

Who makes original audi springs?
will my car (once lowered) sit lower than the sport tdi model ?

sorry for all the questions but i want lower the car ......QUICK!!!

I just had my car lowered using H&R springs. I have the base model 2004 1.8T.... I noticed a significant drop, however not to the point where the wheel gets lost in the wheel-will!!!....lol!

I looks amazing! Looking to put some 18 inch wheels this week. Currently have standard 16 inch. Next will be to change the shocks.

Did you get yours done yet?

I don't have all the answer to your questions but a set of H&R sport springs would bring you to around a stock Sport supension hight but the race would lower you more.

Stock shock are ok ish but you will find when you go through dips in the road the car willl bounce on the springs (boat effect) as the shock cant take up the slack where as sport shock or upgraded shock will and give a great ride for the money (this info is based on race springs).

Not a B6 but here's my old car on none sport shocks and H&R Race springs and then my current car on sport shocks and H&R race springs.
