Default 2002 Audi A4 3.0 Side Mirror issue

Hi all.

Just bought this 2002 A4 and am sooo happy with it. It is clean, only 60k miles and 1 owner.Clear Carfax and everything. Feel I got it for a good price too.

Problem arose though...the side mirrors initially folded in when the button was turned. Now they do not. They were not hit or bumped at all, and the adjustments on both still work fine. They just do not fold. While not the end of the world, I would like to figure out why they just stopped, is there something like closing a door too hard that could have impeeded them not working or is this is common issue?

Thanks for any help.

Alexis
