Wonder if anyone can help me please. I can hear what sounds like servo hunting in the centre top dashboard of my 03 A4 1.9TDI. These are present when ignition is on and for a while after I turn it off.
I've popped a VAG-COM on and get the following: Control Module Part Number: 8E0 820 043 AA Component and/or Version: A4 Klimaautomat 1119 Software Coding: 00000 Work Shop Code: WSC 63251 2 Faults Found: 01272 - Positioning Motor for Central Flap (V70) 41-10 - Blocked or No Voltage - Intermittent 00735 - Shareware Version. To Decode all DTCs 30-10 - Please Register/Activate - Intermittent Ok it's a shareware version but the 00735 seems to refer to the Recirculation Flap Position Sensor -G143. I've found a couple of good pages (A6, not A4 - are they similar?) relating to servos and the servicing of, but does anyone have any ideas before I think about ripping the dash out to see please? I'd hate to do this when the fault may be somewhere else and easy. http://home.comcast.net/~marcogyver/...ervorepair.pdf Audi A6/S6 (type 4A) Climate Control Fix Thank you very much. I think I'd tend to agree with you, try removing the motor and frring it of with some electrical contact cleaner and manual manipulation, failing that it's a new motor try VAGparts.com for a better than stealer price.
You won't need to rip out all the dash, the recirc unit sits ontop of the motor which is easily accessed by removing the glove box, I would suspect it isn't that though, more like the flap to the central fascia vents. |

Glove box is out - I can see the 3 servos on the side of the centre unit. The top one hunts a little when the key is taken out but neither the motor nor the flap seems stuck at all. in fact if I turn the a/c off (ignition on) they all hunt a little. When I turn the ignition off and remove the key there is a period of settling down but I'm not convinced they all turn off. That one in the centre, perhaps the centre fascia vent as you say still hunts after all is shut down and I've gone away. Any idea where the motor controlling the fascia vents can be easily found please? |
