Default A4 hesitation

Hi

Would appreciate any advice on a problem with my 2003 A4 tdi 130:

It's a manual gearbox (5) and when pulling away up an incline from standstill it's prone to stalling, on the level it's ok and downhill fine, it's as if it needs more revs.
I can drive around it but it seems hard work to balance the clutch and throttle to pull away smoothly. Far harder than it should be in a 'quality' german car. I have also noticed it holds on to the revs briefly when the throttle is blipped. Clutch and dual mass flywheel have been changed and improved it a lot but not cured it.

My previous A4 with 180,000 on the clock was a peach in comparison.

Thanks
