Thumbs up

The airbag light on my B6 S4 comes on exactly 6 mins after ignition and stays on.
The useless guys at Glasgow Audi told me its a faulty airbag module and they could replace it for a small £600 fee.
Naturally i told them to @$%^ off.
Seemingly all the module does is make the light come on if there is a fault. I was wondering if anyone can tell me if this is right or should I be trying to avoid trees a bit more till it gets fixed?

hook it up to vag, find the code, find out which airbag it is and check the wires, its usually a black wire with a yellow end at it, make sure its pushed in...
