Recently bought an 2002 A4 1.8T CVT (multitronic). Needless to say I am very pleased with it so far. I need some advise on the type of replenishment fluids such as brake fluid , transmission oil and power stearing fluids.
Are these special Audi dealer oils or can I buy them at the regular Auto parts stores such as Discount auto, Autozone, etc. |

When you replace the CVT Fluid, you need to use the AUDI CVT GEAR OIL, and the intervals for them are every 20K miles. The dealership has to do this, as there is a gravity bleed tool and has to be done at a specific temperature. Audi power steering fluid is recommended, (green stuff), and any DOT4 Brake fluid will work. Synthetic oil is recommended 5w40 weight by castrol if extending your oil change intervals, and any other synthetic will be ok.. but if you do your oil changes every 3K, anything will be fine. |
