Hi everyone

New to the group so thought I'd say hello. Experiencing an unusual "clanking" noise when the car moves off after being parked for a short while. Just been serviced and the dealer says it's the pads sticking to the disks - has anyone heard of this before as it's never happened on any other Audi I've had...

Thumbs down

Hi there,

Is the noise coming from the rear??

if so there is a returning spring on both wheels for the handbrake which pull the calliper away from the disk when you release it, these can stiff up over time which can cause it to brined, There are also 2 sliders with rubber boots on which are connected to 2 bolts (14mm I think) which hold the calliper on, These should be greased when the pads are changed as these also seize up fairly easy.

i would suggest you whip the wheel off and undo the calliper and grease the required areas and see how you get on (if your confident and YOU WILL NEED A Calliper Press ( its a twist type, so a pair of large grips wont work!)

Cheers.
