Default EPC light and reduced power

I have the same problem as the others and it is not a very happy feeling. I bought a second had Audi A3 2002 model and after a month the EPC light has been appearing and same as other users have experienced the low power. I wanted to know if anyone has found a definate solution to this issue.

Thanks in advance.

My Audi A4 Avent FSI 2.0 03 model is also having the exact same problem as this too.

Had it into Audi twice for diagnosis and they have come back with one fault (Fuel Pressure Regulator - to low) but have said that they cannot tell me exactly what needs fixing but recommend that I change the fuel pump and put a new filter on.

BUT after speaking to someone who works in an Audi scrap yard he said if it was the pump I would have heard a buzzing noise from the back of the car, which I haven't.

I am really glad I have looked through old posts and found a post detailing identical problems to mine.

I am desperate to fix this problem, its just finding out exactly what needs fixing.

I had a similar problem on my Audi a4 2.0 fsi 53 plate. Loss of engine power and warning lights on etc. but really intermitent and turning engine on / off cleared fault for a short period. Took to garage who also said they couldnt definatley say what it was but suggested changing the NOX sensor (£600) I went for it as I was away from home and needed to get back. It seemed to clear the fault completly although I have since had a tensioner go and completly write off the engine, but thats another story....

Default Finally fixed!!

Replacing the Air Mass Meter finally fixed the problem. The cost was $198.

I had previously tried to fix the problem by replacing the throttle body, but that proved unsuccessful as described in my earlier post. By the way, I had the Air Mass Meter replaced in August of 2006, and I haven't had any further issues in two years. Sorry for the delay in posting
