Lack Of Up-hill Response (please Help)

I live on a hill in a city which is 2,600 meters above sea level (in south America). On my way home, I have to stop in order to cross a road. This stop is on a pretty hefty hill and thus I need to push full throttle to cross quickly in order to ensure that I cross before another car comes by the intersection as the other route has priority. However, when pushing the pedal hard on my 2003 1.8 T A4, I find that it does not move for like 2 – 3 seconds, and then it only pulls away when it reaches aprox., 2,800 rpm, which means that I really struggle when crossing the crossroad. Is there any way in which I can substantially increase the immediate response of my A4?

Do you have the tip auto or 5 speed trans?

Thanks for your help. I have the multitronic version. I believe 5 speed manual would not have this problem as you could rev up the engine to ensure that the turbo would kick in, thus picking up the speed immediatelly, but I might be wrong.

Its not the height above sea level it is the gearbox struggling to kick in...common on Multitroni (I have one I know) sorry not much you can do

Right and wrong.... it probably is the multitronic getting going.. but there is always something you can do <_<

Neuspeed makes a transmission chip for the multitronic which will increase take off power, as well as give your transmission more agressive shifting.
