Swapping B5 ECU'S

Hey Everyone,

I am considering an purchasing a used ECU with an APR chip to swap into 2000 A4 1.8t Quattro Manual transmisson. The donor ECU only has one program on the APR chip. I am not familiar with the A4 ECU compatibility and immobilizer issues. The ECU with the chip was removed from a 2000 FWD A4 with a manual transmission...will this be a compatible match?

I double checked my ECU part number is 4B0 906 018P; whereas, the donor ECU part number is 4B0 906 018 BG. Can the swap still work? Is it possible to run the ecu and chip without using Vagcom? I'm pretty new to the world of Audi's so, I don't have Vagcom yet.

I have searched through many posts on the forum in order to find the answer to my question. I would appreciate any advice regarding this issue.

Hey

Did you ever go through with this ecu deal. I'm in the exact same boat and was looking for some info.

The chipped ECU worked instantly without any issues. Just make sure that your part numbers match.
