In the NorthEast (NY,NJ,CT,etc) all winter gas is Oxygenated..IE Ethanol 10% by volumn added. This hepls the environment but hurts milage. Ethanol is about 30% less efficient than gas. I see about 2-3 MPG loss in the winter. Some from the fuel, the roads covered in snow whatever...2-3 MPG less any way. Not sure if PA(Lancaster) is also a state that mandates Ethanol. If it does you may be paying more for the normal winter gas. Why are you afraid of this mixture?
I got 362K and 196K on my last two V8 trucks with no engine problems, 260K on a '88 Audi 90 and now have 164K on my '00 S4. All on NY gas and no engine issues. Can you tell us why you believe there is a reason to be wary? Thanks
