I got a video up, I am sorry if I can't be any more specific, but I hope this helps out anyone else that was in my situation.

I also have a picture of the pulley tensioner (circled in black) that broke which resulted in the serp belt falling off. *Below*

I circled in yellow the bolt that docurley referenced in his write up reference below.

"C2. Detension the serpentine belt tensioner using a 17mm socket. As you turn the ratchet to relieve tension pin the tensioner open with a small screwdriver or other suitable tool. Leave the tensioner and pin in place for now."

Edit
*I just noticed its difficult to see the images. I will try to load some different ones.*

I may be doing something wrong, but the bolt docurley references using the 17mm socket, its a non moving part. I already ordered a new tensioner, any tips or suggestions while removing/installing?

i figured out why it was a non-moving part, it was because my belt tensioner was broken. The spring inside locked up, the wheel on the pulley fell off causing the serp belt to fall off track.

I would replace this part as well, incase you ever need to do a timing/serp belt job, just to be sure. I also replaced the alternator, just because, my luck, it would go out 10,000 miles later.

I finished up, its driving perfect, thankyou again for the helpful write up.

i'm having the same problem. i watched videos online of people taking off their bumpers and they just fall out with a little tug. i've been tugging like a madman for 2 days and still can't get any slack.

followed instructions that were posted and i also couldn't find those 3 screws. undertray and fender well and bumper bolt (next to fog lights) are off. the plastic near the fender well is starting to deform. i wonder if the clip is broken?

any tips?

btw, can't even get a screwdriver in yet to loosen clips.

i guess i just don't know which way i'm supposed to pull/push.

this is where i am:
-push the bumper forward firmly (check)
-push down on the edge of the bumper - is something supposed to happen here? should it at least give me an inch gap like in the video? all i've succeeded in doing is deforming the edge of the bumper. i've never taken more than 20 mins to take off the bumper on any car, this is ridiculous. i'm just completely stuck, my hands are sore, my bumper is a little deformed and i'm no where closer to having it off. should i get my sledge out?

Finally got the ***** off. I took the front headlight off (took 2 mins) and just left it connected and flipped it out of the way. Then I could get access to the left clip and shove a screwdriver in it. Then from the wheel well, I shoved another screw driver under the right clip and popped it right off.

Lesson learned. If it just won't give you any slack, take the damn headlights off.

Good advice. tonyburon, any place you went to get help replacing the timing belt? Any info would be helpful, along with water pump replacement. Thanks.
