From one newbie to another. We just changed the timing belt on my car and it is easy at that point as you have all the stuff in the front off. At this moment I can't recall once the crank pulley is bolted back on if you still have access to the nut on the crank. I would think yes.
Hence you need to take the belly pan off, easy job. You should now be able to insert a ratchet into the area to spin the crank. You also have to remove the top cover on the timing area. Two clips to pop off and move a couple of wires/hoses out of the way.
Turn crank until the mark on the cam is at the top and matches the mark on the cover. TDC. Another place to look is on the back side of the engine there is an inspection hole that you can see the flywheel. At TDC there should be a "0" just at the edge of the area you can see into.
Old school method is to take out the plug in #1 cylinder and insert a wooden dowel and spin crank until piston is at the top. JS
