Default Is it a timebomb?

Hello to all. I purchased an '01 A4 2.8 Quattro a couple of years back. It had 42000 on it then and has 65000 now. I have had to replace a cam seal and brakes, but otherwise nothing else. Are there any issues I should be concerned about as the car ages? Obviously routine stuff is expected, but I didn't expect the cam seal to go out at $800 with only 60000 miles on the odometer. My background is in Mustangs and old cars, not highly engineered German imports. I love the car and want to keep it for a long time, so any tips on maintaining it would be appreciated. Thanks!

I had a 1996 2.8 A6 and I put over 200,000 on that car. With the exception of routine maintenance, I only put a new cam sensor in the car. Unfortunately it was totaled in a no-fault of my own accident when a car skidded through a stop sign and then hit me into the oncoming lane and I was then hit by another car head-on. I walked away with a bloody nose from the air bag and both cars had their occupants airlifted.
