Default Possesed Tranny

Recently my tranny has had a bad habbit of not going into gear. I immediately thought that i had blown the tranny and i was so effin pissed. Then about two days later it worked fine, and by fine i mean 100%. Then a week after that it did it again, and then once again it went away. It left me compleately confused and i have no idea wut is going on. When it was acting up and wasnt as bad, i could throw it into gear while the car was off and then turn it on, but even with clutch pedal on the floor the car would move a little as if the clutch was engaged slightly. This is extreamly odd to me and the only explanation i could think of is that there is air in my clutch line or something in the clutch is acting up. Help please

wrong i bet its your slave cylinder for the clutch for them to diagnose the clutch it would involve taking out the tranny and that is the only way they would be able to claim this

Agreed, to say a spring in the plate is loose they woudl have had to do a hell of a lot of work. The slave cylinder is an option. If I where you I woudl get back to the garage and ask them to explain how they came to that descision.

Mack.

well the place i brought it to has been rebuilding and working on audi/vw transmissions for 30+ years now. i think they might be right, well see when they open up the guts if anyhting else comes up. ill tell them to look at the slave cylinder before they actually go in becuase they did only come to the conclusion by just hearing what i had to say

That will be the 6 speed pinion bearing failiure. I have had it with mine, i swapped the box out in the end, cured the selection and the dragging in one operation.

As for the spring on the pressure plate, hmmm, mine is a new clutch kit and the box swap fixed it. I assume by loose they mean snapped or broken as there is no serviceable parts on the pressure plate tbh
