Hi Newbie hear got a bit of a problem

Hi i bought a 1997 A4 1.8 T yesteday and on the way home i noticed as i went round corners or down hills an oil can was coming up on the dash. My first thoughts were it did not have enough oil in but when i got it home and let the engine cool the dipstick was showing it had oil in maybe a little to much. Now i have read on ebay some guy was having this same problem with a passat TDI and he has said that the problem was a weak oil pump.
Has anybody has the same problem as this or could it be that the car has to much oil in?

just ensure that you check your car cold on flat lvl surface, if you do have too much oil drain some off and then check if you have same problem

if you do the fault could be sensor / pump etc, process of elimination
