swap on cluster and engine

two questions is it a head ache to swap a 1.8t quattro 5 speed to a tdi motor????? (bought a b5 with seized motor)

and is the 2000 cluster plug and play for the 98?

To swap the TDi engine in will be a lot of work I would have thought as you will need to swap out the petrol tank ecu clocks (may be) and prob gearbox.

I would say just get another engine and sell it if your after a TDi, if you look on ebay I think there is a engine and box on there for around £350.

Oh and the late clocks will not work with an early loom.

thanks for the reply i kept doing more research your right the tank and allot more needs to be changed.

as far as the speedometer since mine is a 98.5 the 99 and 00 seem to work.
