Oil Strainer

I've read on other topics about the oil strainer inside the oil pan can get clogged up and cause leaks up by your valve covers due to the pump creating pressure from trying to hard..... anyways.. I have a 99 a4 2.8 5 speed, does my car have this same strainer? There's a leak from my right bank, i replaced the valve cover gaskets, maybe its from the cam seal? any help would be great, thanks.

Hi I just took my car in a 1998 A4 2.8 auto and found it has a camshaft leak as well as the rocket covers. Hope it nothing else .. But I was told that it will cost about $600 to 1000 bucks to get fix and if you need to this make sure you change your timing belt & waterpump as it is exposed ..

cool thanks, luckily i just had my timing belt, tensioner, water pump, seals, thermostat all replaced....so we'll see, i'm gonna take off hte valve cover to make sure i put the gasket in right.
