Hey guys, new to the board here.Wondering if you could help me out...
I'm planning on purchasing an older model A4 1.8t with about 75K-80K miles. I was wondering if anybody could give me an estimate on a turbo upgrade?? From what I've heard the K04's are nice (around 1200 w/ install i believe?). Also, anybody on here running the existing stock 1.8t turbo with an HKS SSQV BOV, paired with a turbo timer/boost controller?? just wondering if you've got any CEL's! thanks |

I run a Baileys BOV with Profec B II boost controler and I have no issues.
Now for the K04-15 turbo this info should make a good read. Quote:

The TT K04 is a different turbo and will see around 280bhp where has a K04-15 will max out around 240bhp with all hardware and mapping.

Well if you have a red T on the boot then you have a K03s turbo which stock is pushing out 180bhp and with a remap could see about 210-220bhp depending on tuner. But if looking to upgrade then you have a lot of options but the K04-15 (240bhp max with other mods) Turbo is a easy upgrade but not always the best option as there are other Turbo kits on the market that are not that much more that would see around 280bhp+ (GT2871r Eliminator kit).

Heres a link to some KKK turbos : =| Insatiable need for speed |=
Also keep in mind you'll need a new remap and injectors. MJM makes some pretty good hybrids that can push decent amounts of power
