Thumbs up 1.8T AEB Motor

Now, with 209k on the odometer, it's time to think about the future of my B5... I am going to be in an active search for a new 1.8T AEB motor that I can blueprint, and my intention is to have a fast daily driver with real world horsepower and torque. I know this is kind of an obscure platform (But I don't want to go fishing for a new ECU, either.) So do any of you have any tips for searching this rebuildable core. I intend to drive my car with the existing engine, while I build the new one.

For good power and still use it every day I would look at the elimiater kits if on a budget or go full GT28RS or full GT2871r you can still run them on the ECU just need to find the right software for the set-up you go with. With these set-ups you will see around 300-350bhp at the wheels; also drop ain set of rods and pistons, scat rods are good and cheap.

You will need FMIC for sure and uprated brakes not to mension all the other hardware.

Thanks, doc. I already have the FMIC set aside... Recycled from my Evolution... I have taken the dimensions and I even have a solenoid for the switch activated cooler...

This information is very helpful, and I was looking at the GT28RS, or even some kkk setups. I had a 97 B5 before with this KKK setup, HKS Klasse exhaust and neuspeed tuning, and it was good for around 220bhp... But this one, I am a bit older and knowledgable, so I intend to really put it to the ground... I plan on doing cam work, porting, polishing and fuel delivery, with a lot of boost...

So thank you for the help... But I still need to find a mule motor to build...
