My First Oil Change

I have a 01 2.8 i bought it with 67k. i am approaching 70k and im planning my first oil change. The mechanical part im confident on, i know where the filter and the plug is. My question is what kind of oil should i put in it? The only info i have on the car is that it was purchased new from "zumbach motors" in NYC. The maintance book only has one record from 15k it says that the car was serviced including oil change, dosent say sythetic or conventional. my book says that from the factory it has "SAE 0w-20 " dosent specify if its synth or conventional.

So will somebody please help? is there a way to tell whats in it now?
also the reminder in the digital display tells me oil change every 9k
whats with that?

Honestly I would use the oil from the dealership but I would see if I could get it somewhere cheaper! As for time on the oil change I would change it every 3 to 4k miles depending on how you drive. Also I would look into changing the timing belt, that is always another kicker.
