Its a lovely car. I could be swayed to get shot of the cossie .... well maybe not lol. I really appreciate your help. I just need to get my daughters Fiesta sorted now. Cam belt has snapped and I'm sure its terminal. Ah well. She's 18. She'll get over it. I think it prolly complained at all the pink dice and mats etc that appeared in it.

I'll come back and report how my son gets on.

Ann, Edinburgh.

I'm glad to report the car is fixed and running like a dream.

It has had ....

new oil pump

new sump

new gauze

new vw/audi oil

new filter

been put through a test machine which plugs in between the 2 front seats (although I may have picked my boy up wrong) and has come out with a clean bill of health.

and probably other things i have forgot.

and all for £275.00

Has he had a really good deal? I think he has but what would I know lol.

Many many thanks for your imput and i'll pop back in to tell you what goes wrong next. (kidding)

Oh I tell you whats wrong ... The Bose sound system doesnt work but fortunately he's fell on his feet again because there was a guy who pulled me up at a petrol station asking if I would ever think about selling the cossie. I said if the price was right i'd think about it. We exchanged numbers but we never got in touch. Well as luck would have it my son went to the audi dealership on the day he bought the car to see about getting the stereo fixed and my daughter who was chumming her brother in the audi recognised the guy who wanted to look over the cossie. He's still interested and had apparently lost his phone and he can get the stereo fixed down at the audi dealership for nothing. He's just to take the car in and ask for the guy by name.

How lucky is my boy????

The good news is that my son is doing ok but the car is not. In the torrential rain yesterday he came a cropper in a lovely wee village called Romano Bridge. The car ended up in a field after taking the farmers fence with it. The damage is being assessed tonight. It looks like the intercooler (?) may be knackered as well as the power steering. The police said it was death spot when the weathers as bad as it is and he was lucky he wasn't going fast. My sons devastated. he loves the car and is going to do his upmost to keep it on the road. I'll come back and report.

PS Anyone got a spare bumper?

Ann

The car is now up and running perfectly again. it needed new power steering bits, a new exhaust from the middle box down. The cats were ok thankfully. The Intercooler has also been seen to. The guy also replaced his front bumper and put on his registration plate again. All for the pricely sum of 130.00.

He now needs to get the bump out of the door and front panel. For a great job he has been quoted 500 but his mechanic is gonna ask around to see if he can get it cheaper.

The saga continues.

In the mean time my boy is looking for a cheap run around so as he can keep the audi for better weather. More money than sense methinks.
