Default A4 Reliability

I'm considering picking up a 2000-2004 A4 not sure if it'll be a 1.8T or V6, but I have some concerns about reliability.
I am new to the Audi world and know nothing about their reliability.
What is most common-fail part out there? For example, 1987-2004 Mustangs like to eat transmissions with minimal upgrades.
When looking for a 2000-2004 A4, are there any items I should specifically check?
Thanks for your help.

Im not sure about the 00-04 B6 A4, but for B5, the V6 2.8 tends to be more reliable because it has less removable parts compare to the 1.8T.

Not sure about the years you're looking at, but I have a '98 A4 2.8 and have had a ton of problems with it. Various mechanics have told me that they would buy a new, warrantied Audi any day of the week but wouldn't never even think of buying a used one. Way too many repairs, and each time you need something fixed it costs way more than american or japanese cars.

I kinda agree with wombatsa4, I owns a 99 Audi 2.8 30V and have 80000 miles on it, it have many small minor problems, like air con doesnt work sometimes, the dash board becomes fuzzy, but over all, it's a great car, lux, the engine runs very well and strong, never breaks down since I purchased it 1.5 years ago, I heard some people say its good for 200,000 miles. And just make sure the car comes with full service history.
