Hello, I am a new guy. I bought my first car, 2001 A4 1.8T, from a dealer today. It is a nice car. Yet, I wonder why the Engine Check Indicator was on after I had driven for a few miles when I was going back home. It was not on when I had the test driving. The dealer said it was changed with a new timing-belt and should work fine.
Do you have any ideas with my engine check indicator issue? Also, I cannot get the cigarette lighter out after I have pressed it in...Will it get too hot and burn my car? ![]() |

Seriously, did you even read his questions??
As for the check engine light, take it back to the dealer and drive it up his ass, haha... You can go to most auto parts stores and they can scan it to tell you whats setting the light off... personally, i'd have the dealer do it and fix the issue. My guess is that the light was on before you drove the car and the dealer reset it so it would stay off when you picked it up... once driven again, the faulty sensor(s) will trigger the light again. The cigarette lighter will pop out when it gets hot enough... if it sticks in it will eventually just burn the coil out and not work anymore. Im not a smoker (and if I was i wouldnt smoke in my car) so I dont play around with mine...
