2000 s4. 2 sets of problems

The first problem is an exaggerated road noise when i turn to the right. I'm pretty sure that it might be a wheel bearing. The second problem is when I have not started it in a day or two. First gear is fine, when the trany shifts into second gear the engine boggs down. It only does it the first time in second gear. Once I get going and the car is warmed up it won't do it.

Could also be the control arms and the gear box issue does not sound good to me I would put about £600 away for a second-hand box just in case.
