A4 air mass meter on 1.9TDi

Hi there,

This is my first post here.

I have a 1997 A4 Avant 1.9TDi and there is no power from the engine. The glo plugs light flashes all the time and I thought the problem was the air mass meter. I bought a new one (Pierburg) and fitted it but there is no change.

Could it be that the new part has fixed the problem but that the system needs to be reset for it to take effect? Or should the part, presuming that is the problem, fix the problem immediately?

Any other ideas on what the problem might be?
