Buying a used 2001 S4 Sedan

Hi Everyone

I am purchaseing a used 2001 B5 Audi S4, yes it has the 5 speed tritronic.
The only thing I can find so far on the car is a small amout of oil just in front of the transmission pan collecting on a small round pipe. I know you can not tell where it is comming from, but what might it be?
Cannot see any thing from the top.

Could be from the axle shafts, or any seals, etc. And, you can check for it. Does you car still have the shield thing underneath? If you, wash and degrease all of the parts underneath, reinstall the guard. Drive slow for a few mile. Re check it...and just follow the trail. You should be able to find some amount off oil pooled up at the source or be able to follow it back to the source. Good luck!
