Default Burning Smell

Hi guys,

Whilst sitting in traffic yesterday and then driving to work, I noticed a very strange burning smell coming from the front of the car.

It sort of smells like a burning clutch, but the clutch seems to be fine and I have had a look under the bonnet and everything seems to be ok.

I have taken it to my mechanic, he can smell it but cannot identify what the problem is.

Any ideas please???

Thanks
Nilz

Well the clutch will still work eventhough it is being worn down. I noticed the same thing two months ago. The car still shifts the same but will start to burn after a few miles.

Good Luck...

Hi Bry,

Thanks for the reply, the smell seems to have gone away now, and touchwood, no slipping of clutch either, it may just have been that it was being overly used on that particular day....
