I'm looking to add a second A4 to my stable. I'm looking at a 1995 A4 1.8T with 231,403 km (143,000 miles). The car is pretty clean considering the age. I'll take it for a test drive soon. The owner is asking $5000 USD. I think this is too much but can't find this car on KBB or NADA.com. I'm assuming this is because it is European spec.
If I can talk him down to $3500 USD would it be a decent price? I'm not looking for a steal; I just don't want to overpay. Ced |

An opinion from Europe (as far as I can tell looking on the prices from the USA on the internet, and the prices here):
$5000 is too much, around $3500-4000 would be I think an honest price if everything's working and you won't need to replace anything soon. But of course, if there are some extra options / tunings, or very recent major repairs (as timing belt, control arm, engine stuff etc - not because of an accident though ) you can arrive to an "honest" 5000.Bye Ovidiu |
