A4 Battery Exposed

I've had an A4 2.8L tiptronic for a year now and this car flies around Cape Town. A puzzle to me is the battery, which sits up against the fire wall, totally exposed to rain and washing water coming through the vents at the base of the windscreen. The plastic water drainer below the grill has numerous slits in its dam wall, allowing water to drip straight onto the battery, which, if one rinses off exessive soap suds when washing, could actually arc across the terminals. When I enquired if there should be a battery cover, Audi South Africa stated not to their knowledge, which indicates a serious design fault.
Do your A4's in the US and UK have battery covers?

As far as i know they never have done. Aslong as your terminals are greased up then it will be fine because they are all sealed batteries anyway.
