Hi

I have an A4 1.9 TDi (1996) and the heating is stuck on HOT!!!

Turning on the aircon makes no difference. I can hear all the motors moving except when I change temp. I have removed the glovebox and can some arms moving the flaps, but not sure which controls the temp flap.... Any ideas?

Many thanks

Have you got the electronic climate control with the digital display??

If so, just check that you havent got the AUTO button on and also check that you havent got the ECON button on either, as this makes a difference in mine, when i turn both of them off the car gets very cold, very quick!!!

Hope that helps.......

Have fixed it with a little help from ANDYCQ20V @ www.audifans.net

The purple motor controls the temperature flap - if you remove the glove box you find that you can see a purple plug, this controls the purple motor. I just wired it up to a spare car battery and operated the motor - the climatre control unit only usually supplies around 7.5 to 8 volts to the motor, by giving it 12 volts freed it off - it seems that they can become stuck from time to time - the brushed must in the motor must be quite soft and can leave dead spots on the commutator.
