Abs Brakes

Audi A4 1.9TDI Quattro Estate has an unusual feel to the brake pedal when turning, ie there is a bumping sensation and a noise and a feel like the ABS is engageing and then disengageing. Has any one come across this before?

This happened on my 1998 S4 prior to the ABS light being permanently lit and then having to have the ABS ECU reconditioned.

Many thanks , just one question how long did the ABS problem go on before the light came on?

in my case, about 1000 miles.

After spending a lot of time and diognostic time trying to sort this out , the weakness that was causeing the problem was the rear reluctor rings which had broken and at speed were moving just enough to push out the rear sensors to affect the ABS system. This cause the system to think the wheel had stopped even when it had not ( it did not put ABS light on). Tricky blighters Eh
