Hi Guys and gals
Just joined the site after purchasing a 2000 tdi avant, the car is what i would have expected from Audi, but i have just found some small lower body corrosion on the doors, as i,m in the trade it would appear this is a common problem with the a4. I would like to know what you guys think about this and whether there is any comback with Audi, to be honest i,m a bit peed off as my 96 citroen with 150k is in better condition. Any oppinions or thoughts would be appreciated. cheers Bill |

I had corrosion like the picture in the prevoius post. It was the metal inside the body molding that was corroding. I had them replaced luckily before it had spread onto the metal on the lower doors. I pointed out to Audi that this could have caused serious corrosion on the doors had I not caught it in time. They appeared rather unimpressed. I don't know if there would have been any warranty coverage for something like this. They certainly did not cover any of the replacement costs for the molding.
