Hi:
I have a 1998 2.8 A4 Avant which shows the ABS light and the brake light blinking. ****ysis is that the ABS Aggregate (master control block under the hood) needs to be replaced. Are there any suggestions for a reasonable (price that is) place to buy certified, new, Audi parts on the East coast (preferably Maryland, but shipping is possible?). Cost of this part runs about $2100 at a dealer. Seems somewhat high! Thanks for information. |

I'm pretty sure you can get them straight from bosch(yellow pages in your area) but it wont save you much. I had the same problem and I went to my local Audi dealer who quoted me $3500 Aussie dollars for the part. Since the car wasn't worth that much ('96 2.6 Quattro) they were nice enough to knock it down to $2200 aussie. Aparently, this is a common thing for them to do when a new part is very expensive compared to the worth of the car. Maybe you could try this at the Audi dealers in the US - ask them how much for the whole thing including the installation - thats how i got it. When i just asked for the part - they quoted me the whole lot.
Worth a try. |
