Strange Occurance With Tiptronic

Hi guys,

While driving on the highway the other day I had a strange experience with my care (1998 A4 2.4 tip). The car did not change up timeously. It was stuck in 3rd at a speed when it supposed to be in 5th. I had to take the revs high to get it to change up, or slip it in tip mode. After driving a while, the problem disappeared.

I took it to the service centre. They did the diagnostics, but found no problems.

Has anyone experienced this?
Any ideas of what is going on?

Did the transmission go into safe mode? i.e. were all of the gear indicators lighted? Could just be low on fluid but what a pain to check. Also might want to look at your Multi Function Switch.

No safe mode
No engine warning signal

The service station checked the transmission fluid, but all is ok.

No problems could be detected when the diagnostic was done.

When was the last time you had the tranny serviced? Could be some sludge in the pan gumming things up. A good flush and fill can't hurt.
