Hello guys. I am in the process of purchasing a 1999 audi a4 1.8t. An older woman drove it with a 12 year old kid. The leather is in mint condition, and the paint is pristine. I had a local mechanic check it out and the only things we found collectivly was a corroded oil cooler and some unusal wear on the disk breaks.

Does anyone on here happen to have any pointers. I read on MSN autos that the 1999 had some major problems. More so than the 97's and 98's. That has me kind of scared. That along with the potential high expenses of repairs and all.

The car has 75 k miles on it, and Im working on the price. I am lookin at about $9200 us dollars.

Do you gents have any good help or input into this situation. General help on the a4 would be awesome. Thanks everyone

O but *** did. Her husband doesnt buy anything but 5 speed. The car is perfect. It is not a quattro.. But I dont not think I will need it. I live in San Diego so the roads arent that tretorous. It is cool to have 4 motion but I am getting a better deal bc of that. Any other problems or occurances witha 1999 a4? any high dollar fixes? Help me out here. Thanks gents.

Cheers
