Intake manifolds / EGR / pipes

Hi I've just found your forum. I currently have an Audi Q7 3.0 TDi q SE registered 2008. I've always owned Audis and found them very reliable cars.

Unfortunately I'm having a problem with my Q7 at the moment. Last year both the intake manifolds had to be replaced. A warning light came up last week for the coolant so I took the car to the garage. They asked me whether I'd had any work done to the EGR as the pipework around it is in a mess!!

My question is could the EGR/pipes have been removed or disturbed during the replacement of the intake manifolds? No other major works have been done to the car so I'm thinking the problem occurred when the manifold work was done, alternatively it's been like this from new??

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm great at driving Audis but don't understand anything under the bonnet!!

Thanks for your help JD

The answer is yes. The EGR can be remove from the car. If you have more questions, you can as on a service center
