Q7 brake pads.. need advice!

i have a 2007 Q7 and my front brake pads already need to be replaced. the dealership is charging $500 for parts and labor!

i wanted to see if i can find a place to buy the brake pads and then install em myself. should i stick to oem? if so, can you recommend a place? aftermarket suggestions?

are you sure they need even changing ? what mileage have you done.

just that i have had a service at 17,500 and been told they are only a third worn and i have towed for 2k of that distance.

so you should be 40/45k plus.

I have just had my Q7 serviced at 26000km (16155 miles) and the dealer recommended replacement of the front and rear pads, the front discs and the front sensors; that cost me AUD $2300. I have not done any towing and drive fairly conservatively.

They told me this was about the life expectancy from a set....ouch.

I'd say from experience if your getting 25,000 miles out of your front pads thats pretty good going, its a pretty big unit to keep slowing down and the reason for the price. . . brembo brakes.

Hello A3please, nope only got 25000 Kilometers and yes I am looking at changing the entire setup to an upgraded Brembo set. Brembo supply the OE parts already but I see they have an upgrade ready to go on the Q7. All I have to figure out is which caliper and rotor combo will fit inside my standard 7.5 18" wheels.

Audis are known from brakes wearing out quick. We had to change ours at 15K miles. $400 for parts.
