Hi All - I'd like to retrofit GPS NAV into my '07 US Q7 and could use some instructions, if anyone has them. I've seen a PDF of the audi instructions for install in a A6 in the A6 forum - hopefully someone has the same for the Q7 (but I wasn't able to locate via search).
If a complete set of instructions isn't available, if there's anyone who can tell me where to locate the existing GPS Antenna stub that should be somewhere in either the roof-liner or D-Pillar area, I'd really appreciate it. I know I will need a Blue FAKRA extension, but hopefully someone who has done this already, knows where the prewired stub from the sharkfin is located. Thanks, -Jim |

Thanks, A8_TECH. I appreciate this alot.
It looks like it's not directly under the D-Panel trim piece, but instead, a little forward of that and the rearmost speaker, in the roofliner area of the D-Panel. Suggestions for minimal trim disassembly to reach this area would be appreciated, if anyone has them. Thanks again, -Jim |

The pic A8 Tech posted is correct with the location of the connector. But you may be unlucky like I was with the shark fin only having the phone antenna and not the GPS antenna. I had to purchase a new shark fin, spray it and then fit it. It is possible to pull the piece of trim at the back of the roof panel. You pull it down from the rubber boot seal and push it away. This will let you in to the base of the shark fin. You also need to remove the screws holding the light in.
