If you do cross-continent motoring you might consider that tyre wear is comparitively high and you might not do a round trip without changing tyres That may be a bit of an excageration [sic] but if you travel 50,000 miles or more annually then you will find tyre replacement costs to be untennable. In fact it is unacceptable whatever your annual mileage but a high mileage business user should certainly think carefully about alternatives.

I have recently bought a Q7 3.0 TDI in Oz and apart from the rip off price of cars in Oz it is just the ticket. Coming from the UK my car had to have diesel, 7seats and sat nav. All the Jap cars have V6 petrol and are very plasticy inside. I got a demo with a couple of thousand K’s and BT phone, Electric Tail gate, Sat nav, 20 inch wheels, Tow kit, tint. It cost a bit but my wife loves it so that is half the battle. The dealer has indicated it is getting more difficult to get 3.0 TDI’s at the moment, but someone will have one in stock.
